Welcome to the web site of the 100th Entry of Aircraft Apprentices at the Royal Air Force No 1 Radio School, RAF Locking, from Jan '62 to Dec '64.

In January 1962, around 155 boys travelled to RAF Locking near Weston Super Mare in Somerset. All had recently left school and completed  the Royal Air Force entrance exams to become Aircraft Apprentices at the RAF's Number 1 Radio School and MEMBERS of the 100th Entry. The following 3 years (summarised in CHRONICLE) would be packed with bull in the BILLETS, LEARNING, EXERCISE and SOCIAL activities. Some would not make it to GRADUATION, but the majority would qualify in one of the RAF's Radio TRADES.

Much of this site is devoted to REUNIONS and NOSTALGIA with many pictures in the PHOTO ALBUM and discussions in the FORUM. Communication with site admin is through the CONTACT and FAQ  pages or the GUEST BOOK . In addition, there are plenty of LINKS TO OTHER SITES which may be of interest to 100th Entry Members.

Over 140 of the original 100th Entry starters (approx 160) have been accounted for so far, many of whom attended Reunions in 2006 and 2008 (there are almost 200 pictures in the PHOTO ALBUM). We know of a handful of original members who are no longer with us (identified in the FORUM), but there are still around 20 people who are not accounted for. So, if you are one, or know of anyone else, please CONTACT  site admin ASAP.

Many of us are now retired and living in locations all over the world. The aim of this web site is simply to identify as many 100th Entry members as possible and, if they want to, put them in touch with the others. But in any case there are still lots of photos, anecdotes and memories from those days in the 60's to be going on with.
